René AUBRY

(Songs without words)
Plaisirs d'Amour is a solo album. Aubry has been very enthusiastic about this project for several years, but his work for the theatre, the dance and the cinema has up till now provented him form being able to bring it to completion.
René Aubry wanted this solo album to be différent: acoustic, intimist, warm-hearted, tender.
It is based mainly on the guitar, his favourite instrument, and the musiciens include Bruno Fontaine (piano), Christophe Guiot (violins), Thierry Caens (trumpet), Bertrand Auger (saxophone), Nathalie junker (choruses).
The illustration for this digipack is by Lorenzo Mattotti.

RENÉ AUBRY

Born in 1956, René Aubry is a self-taught musician who was encouraged to become a composer by the choreographer Carolyn Carlson, whom he first met in 1978.
During the next few years he composed the music for numerous ballets by Carlson, his own favourites being "Blue Lady' (1982 - The Fenice, Venice) and "Steppe" (1990 - Théâtre de la Ville, Paris).
From 1986 to 1992 Aubry worked closely with the puppeteer Philippe Genty, for whom he wrote the scores for "Dérives" and "Ne m'oublie pas" (1989-1992, Théâtre de la Ville).
In October 1994 he took part in a unique opening concert (conducted by Philippe Nahon) for the 9th Bari Times Zones festival. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Philippe Glass also took part in this event.
During this period Aubry also wrote the music for several films and brought out many discs.
